is fun!
Flippers is a whanau that learn together, a tuakana/teina relationship is promoted as older children guide younger children in our mixed aged setting
Children are encouraged to be risk takers, to be independent, make choices, take the lead and follow their interests in their learning
Priorities for learning include developing social, literacy and numeracy skills
Children are encouraged to be critical thinkers and active explorers
Teachers promote a love of learning and learning is fun in an environment where care and education are interwoven
Teachers embrace New Zealand’s languages, values and bicultural understandings as well as those of other cultures
Healthy lifestyle choices are promoted and children, teachers and families have a responsibility for the natural environment and awareness of sustainability
We utilise the wider community to support our programme as it provides a variety of learning experiences for us
