Kia ora whanau,

As you now may be aware, yesterday there was news of a Dunedin high school student who has tested positive for Covid-19. We appreciate that this is the first case within a school in Dunedin and it may be concerning. However, it is business as usual here at Flippers.

As said earlier in the week we are following several steps to ensure the Flippers family are kept safe and well e.g. teaching children good hand washing skills, extra cleaning of the environment, resources and equipment, replacing wash cloths with paper towels, “catching” coughs and sneezes.

There is one simple rule to follow – if children are unwell (whether or not the illness relates to Covid-19 or not) they should stay home.

We are linked closely with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, who inform us about what advice to give and how to respond. Please remember that any official Flippers information will come directly from us, you can also read updates, advice and guidance from the official source, the Ministry of Health website.
